Young Living Essential Oils is about health and how essential oils like Basil, Geranium, Eucalyptus and other Aromatherapy Oils sooth, clear, rejuvenate, stimulate, and even strengthen mental focus and concentration.  How essential oils affect deeply has been proven time and again and these days, more and more people resort to oils instead of drugs, knowing that oils go beyond merely relieving a person of the symptoms of disease. They go deep into chakra levels to balance energies that overburden or under-utilize the physical body.

You can use essential oils that rejuvenate and give the body a boost of energy after a long day’s exposure to the pain of fatigue. Of course, prevention is still the best cure, and there are oils for that, but for the average human, one cannot avoid exposure due to the need to earn a living or when we take on stress in any way.

Essential oils hydrate, oxygenate and detoxify by boosting circulation and minimizing obstructions. They are not invasive but will penetrate the skin, rather quickly, and enter the bloodstream without hampering the natural functioning of the other organs of the human body. They only require delicate application, sometimes by mere smelling, and will still be powerful and effective especially when it comes to dealing with stress-related physical ailments. They can calm the heart while boosting circulation. They can improve and enhance digestion and liver functioning and one very interesting benefit is how oils affect the chakra and energy balance in the body.

Oils have a direct connection to yoga and yoga techniques in that they help achieve what yoga wants to accomplish, via the asana and meditative practices, for energy balance in the body. Yoga and essential oils, together, will give the practitioner a myriad of physical, spiritual and mental benefits that shame the way drugs work. Oils are natural and there are increasing indications of appreciation in the use of what is natural in the body. Oils have been used for thousands of years in Yoga practicing countries, as well as in many parts of the world, for health and to bring balance in the chakra system. When mixed with coconut or olive oil, to rub the feet or the physical locations of the chakra, they’ve been known to promote mental peace and interior balance and therefore heightened spirituality. When used for meditation, these oils enhance tranquility and the practitioner of yoga is able to achieve concentration quickly and with ease.

  • For the root chakra – use patchouli for grounding and stability
  • For the Sacral Chakra – use sandalwood and Ylang-Ylang for improved sexuality and reproductive system as well as creativity.
  • For the Solar Plexus chakra, use cinnamon for improved self-confidence
  • For the Heart Chakra, use rose for combating depression and enhancing sleep.
  • For the Throat Chakra, use eucalyptus to clear the sinuses and enhance self-expression.
  • For the Third Eye, use lavender for instant calm. Also great for headaches and spiritual enhancement.
  • For the crown Chakra, frankincense for mental peace and clarity and a heightened sense of oneness with the universe.

Aromatherapy oils trigger the limbic factor in the brain which is connected to memory.  When used repeatedly, aromatherapy oils work more and more effectively because the body automatically responds with every new application. Thus, merely smelling this oil creates a soothing, rejuvenating and clearing effect, in addition to its numerous dermatological benefits.  For instance, lavender creates an instant calming effect and can be an antiseptic that protects the skin naturally. Another is Tea Tree which is also an antiseptic with powerful aroma-therapeutic effects. I say powerful because the essences of these oils go into the bloodstream and urinalysis will reveal the depth of their penetration.

Here are some oils that affect the mind and body.
  1. Basil sparingly applied – is best for concentration and mental stimulation
  2. Eucalyptus - excellent for mental stimulation, concentration, and for combating fatigue and rheumatic pain
  3. Geranium - The aroma of Geranium instantly lifts the emotions from suffering anxiety thereby balancing the mind that is frequently bombarded by stress.
  4. Peppermint - for the relief of mental fatigue
  5. Rosemary - a stimulant for memory and brain enhancement.  Best used in the morning but should be avoided by pregnant women, people with hypertension, and epilepsy.

Merely smelling these oils, using a cotton ball or tissue or directly from the container will provide great benefits.  Some people use these oils as perfumes and apply wherever they wish.

At Young Living we believe in the holistic approach to health.  Oils are safe, effective, and natural when applied according to directions.
