By Lori Lines The Magic of Words Words have held power long before we have the technology to record or transport them. Before there was the internet, television, telephones, or even telegrams, there was the spoken word. An integral part of ancient folk medicine and spirituality, ancients used their words like herbs to breathe life and power into their rituals and rites. Contemporary science has now come to "discover" what ancient people always knew; the power of the words is made evident by language studies like Neuro-Linguistic Programming. Words have the power to hurt and heal. They can secure a victory or cause a loss. Moreover, the spoken word is infinite because it can never be erased. We must understand the true power of what we give voice to because we create the fullness of our experience through it. The Essence of Life While once a novel concept, many are now aware of the power and pervasive nature of energy. The furniture you are sitting on as you read this, the thoughts these words inspire, and the words themselves, all energy! We cannot escape energy, even when this lifetime is done. In fact, you'll find the most profound energy you'll ever know within the liminal space between lifetimes! Energy is what makes manifestation and attraction possible. When the frequency of our beliefs, emotions, and behaviors aligns with the vibration of our desires, we can create existence and attract the abundance we desire. Affirmations work similarly. When we speak our truth and desires with conviction in our words and confidence in their effects, we become sovereign creators of our realities. As Aristotle said, the energy of the mind is the essence of life! Paying Heed to The Tales of Old Wives Old wives' tales and superstitions about not discussing good deeds, keeping a pregnancy secret until a specific trimester, or not counting chickens before they're hatched all share a common thread; Speaking of good fortune or impending successes isn't always advisable. As they say, sometimes it is worth paying heed to old wives' tales because they were once needful for the wise to know! Often, we have a good turn of events or are making extra special plans and can't wait to share our good news with someone. While, unlike the old tales, we are not liable to be struck down and punished for our hubris and pride, sharing can make our hopes and creations vulnerable to the negative intentions and low vibrational thoughts of others! Sharing your plans with some people can make you a target! Known by many names, the "evil eye" is a very real force that extends beyond cultures, religions, and eras. Fundamentally, the evil eye is when someone looks at our past, present, or future blessings with envy, jealousy, resentment, or spite. Losing what Silence Has Won You may think, "I'll only tell those I trust." There are three primary issues with that
The second point may also be relatively common. This could be a well-meaning friend or family member that wants to "save" us from disappointment or failure, so they try to caution against "getting your hopes up" or warn us about all the pitfalls to avoid. They lower your vibration by planting seeds of verbalized doubt or negative thoughts. The third issue can be harder to discern because the negative energy is obscured from you and hidden away in the other person's subconscious. These people may genuinely think they want what is best for us but have a subconscious lack of fulfillment that results in deep-seated envy and jealousy, which resonates as resentment. Despite consciously wishing you well, they lower your frequency with unconscious negativity. And this is how easily the power of our words, unbeknownst to us, can lose what our silence could have easily won. Let Your Actions Speak Now you see that you can block your blessings or hinder your plans when discussing your hopes and intentions with others indiscriminately. Because everything is energy, the frequency of others' thoughts, feelings, and words can disrupt your abundance or defuse and dilute your Creator power and manifestation energy. Of course, it is okay to speak grateful, optimistic words from time to time, but best to let your actions and accomplishments speak for themselves. If you are thankful, live with gratitude; if you are motivated, exercise your Creator sovereignty, and if you are blessed, design the reality you desire with your abundance. Ultimately, words speak with intent, while actions speak with purpose. In Love and Truth, Lori Lines
